PTFE bellows are engineered machined components used as pulse dampeners, compensating or protecting elements in chemical ,food and medical appliances. They are also used to compensate for thermal expansion especially in pipelines. Depending on different designs and different wall thickness of the convolution elements, bellows can offer either high flexibility or high compressive strength.

PTFE bellows are widely used in the chemical industry due to the good chemical resistance of the material. PTFE bellows are used in many applications:

• To compensate vibrations, motion and displacements between two connecting components;
• To protect piston rods, linkages and other machine parts involving axial and in some cases radial motion;
• In combination with check valves, bellows can be used to circulate or pump gases and liquids using volume changes.
